NABIE is excited to welcome you to NABIE 2025 in sunny San Diego! We have a great conference with excellent speakers planned that include presentations from the National Fire Protection Agency, Hilti, Intertek and more. We are also thrilled to have Julia Harrod, President-Elect of NSPE as our honored guest.
And what would a NABIE conference be without a fascinating and entertaining presentation by Ed Fronapfel? Ed will be delivering another blockbuster presentation on March 15th. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
NABIE'S 2025 Guest Host, Julia Harrod, P.E., F.NSPE, President-Elect, NSPE
NABIE is honored to have Julia Harrod, NSPE President-Elect as our guest this year. Julia has over two decades of professional experience as the President of MWM DesignGroup, an interdisciplinary firm providing civil engineering, architecture, land surveying, landscape design, and governmental relations services in Texas.
Julia has successfully overseen and coordinated numerous transit, utility, roadway, airport, and land development projects for both public and private sector clients. In addition to her work at MWM DesignGroup, she has also served as the National Treasurer for the National Society of Professional Engineers from 2013 to 2017, where she played a key role in addressing critical issues for the engineering profession. Julia has also held the position of State President for the Texas Society of Professional Engineers in 2011 to 2012, focusing on the development of future professional engineers and the promotion and protection of the engineering profession. Prior to her work in Texas, Julia Harrod worked as an Architectural Intern for Graham Carruthers Partnership Ltd in Bath, England.
Ms. Harrod completed her undergraduate studies in Architecture at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1986 to 1990, earning a degree in Course IV. Following her passion for engineering, she pursued higher education at The University of Texas at Austin from 1992 to 1994, where she obtained a Master of Science in Engineering degree.
Welcome from NABIE Executive Director Catherine Jones
We are thrilled to present our new NABIE format this year in San Diego. New this year is our CSR project with San Diego Habitat for Humanity build on Friday, March 14th.
Also new this year, members from Criterium Engineers will be joining NABIE at our annual conference and we are looking forward to welcoming them in San Diego. This year, our closing dinner will be a casual affair on the beach at Paradise Point- our hotel. Indulge in fresh seafood, network with fellow engineers and revel in San Diego's lovely sunsets.
