After a two year delay, NABIE is proud to announce that our first international conference will take place February 9-11, 2023 in Barcelona at the Ohla Eixample Hotel.  We are looking forward to a conference with blockbuster speakers and hands on learning at the Sagrada Familia and other architecturally significant locations.

Why did we choose to hold our conference overseas?  Firstly because Barcelona is a world class city with the once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Sagrada Familia prior to its completion.  NABIE has always led the way in terms of educational programming for building inspection engineers and we have the opportunity to secure best in class speakers for our members.

Secondly, as we all know, inflation has increased costs for everyone and Europe and elsewhere represents a 33% cost savings on our conference costs over what we were able to source in the US.

As Executive Director, I am thrilled to announce NABIE's 2023 meeting in the extraordinary city of Barcelona. Not only is Barcelona a world class city, it is an architectural wonderland and represents a fantastic value for our members, and it is a city that I know well.

When I was tasked with sourcing our 2023 meeting, the NABIE Board of Directors looked at several American cities, as well as Europe.  It is currently almost 33% less expensive to hold a meeting in Spain than any city in the United States.  Much of that has to do with how food & meeting space are priced in Europe.  For instance, your breakfast is included daily in your room rate.

When NABIE contracts a meeting, the Academy is contractually held to certain benchmarks that guarantee revenue to the hotel or meeting facility.  Due to these obligations and to pass on savings to our members, this year NABIE will require that all hotel accommodations at the Ohla Eixample be booked at the time of your registration for the conference.  This will enable NABIE to pre-purchase Euros at their current low rate and secure your rooms for far less than you would be able to do on site.

We know that with rising costs, investing in personal development is more daunting this year.  As such, one great feature that we have implemented is a payment plan that will allow you to spread out your payments for the conference to make it easier for small business owners.
