As the President of NABIE, now the Association Building Inspection and Design Professionals (ABID), I am excited to outline the progress that we have made this year in re-invigorating the Association. This year, our new board has focused on adding value to the Association with monthly Webinars for PDHs, marketing efforts in terms of a complete revamp of both our website as well as new branding with our new name, The Association of Building Inspection and Design Professionals to better reflect the day to day activities of our members, and a methodical and focused approach to attracting new corporate affiliates

In addition, we have hired an remote executive assistant and fractional employee, Christine, who sits in the Philippines.  She is a wonder and is assisting us in social media, bookkeeping, membership and more.  She is presently catching up on things that fell by the wayside with our almost 2-year hiatus of not having an Executive Secretary.

We are looking forward seeing both legacy members as well as our many new members in Scottsdale in February.

The 2026-27 year and conference are off to a fantastic start.  NABIE's transition to The Association of Building Inspection and Design Professionals has generated much needed traction and better reflects who we are as an organization.

There is no better example of this traction than the excitement that our 2027 conference in Scottsdale is generating.  The introduction of the annual Sigman Fund Benefit will assist ABID in replenishing much needed educational funding, as well as providing a quality opportunity to network and make meaningful connections.

This year we have also introduced a new guest/companion category.  Attendees who plan on bringing a spouse or guest can register them for the companion package.  This package includes breakfast daily as well as the closing dinner.

Also new this year will be our Opening Reception and Exhibit Hall on Thursday, February 18th.  ABID has had amazing response from industry suppliers who we believe have services that will benefit your organizations.  These suppliers include ArcSite, CoWorq, Tremco, and many others.

And of course, ABID still has the same great education that our members seek.  Our all-star line up includes presentations from members Mark Waldman, Robert Roop and Ed Fronapfel, as well as relavent topics such as air and water barriers.  This year will also feature a visit to Simpson Strong Tie's training and manufacturing facility.
