Description

Ultra-lightweight Foamed Glass Aggregate (UL-FGA) is a lightweight fill alternative that is used on commercial and residential projects. Beneficial properties of UL-FGA include a high strength to density ratio, good insulating value, non-reactivity, volume stability, non-leaching behavior, high porosity and pest-resistance. Additionally, the material is made from 100% recycled glass and has an attractive carbon and energy footprint. This presentation will review the relevant properties of UL-FGA when it is used around the building envelope, application areas, manufacturing process, and various case studies from commercial and residential building projects that have utilized UL-FGA in design and construction.
