Description

Today a landscape of building occupancy is being impacted at an increasing rate by decision-making related to the carbon footprint. Whether new construction, renovation, recycling or demolition, decision must be reached based on the impact toward a more sustainable future. Concrete, the most versatile and widely used construction material on the planet is at the heart of the issue as it affects both the emission and sequestration of carbon dioxide. Tilt-up concrete construction has continued to demonstrate the effectiveness of an evolved mindset toward capturing all of the advantages yet like any building system must face the challenges faced by time and exposure to the pressures of the environment. This presentation will cover a lot of ground from the perspective of decision making that impacts the built and renovated conditions of occupied space enveloped by this high-performance and often misconstrued construction system.
